Safety Recall: Airbag Inflator May Produce Excessive Pressure

Dear Honda Owner,
This notice is to advise you of a safety recall campaign that affects your vehicle.

What is the reason for this notice?
Honda has decided that a safety defect which relates to motor vehicle operation exist in certain 2009-2011 Honda City, 2007-2011 Honda CRV, and 2007-2012 Honda Fit. In certain vehicles, the driver’s (front) airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. If an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator casing to rupture. Metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, possibly causing injury or fatality to vehicle occupants.

What should you do?
Call any authorized Honda distributor/dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired at no cost to you. Please plan to leave your vehicle for half a day to allow the dealer flexibility in scheduling.

Our records show that you are the current owner or lessee of a vehicle involved in this campaign. If this is not the case, or the
name/address information is not correct, please notify your Honda distributor/dealer.
