The European Distributors Conference 2015 was held at the Atahotel Villa Pamphili hotel in Rome, Italy on Sep tember 9 and 10. This was Isuzu’s first all-in-one gathering held to discuss sales and aftersales service and parts for both commercial and light-commercial vehicles in the European market. A group of 55 senior personnel and managers of sales and after-sales service from 21 distributors in 19 countries attended the event. They were joined by representatives from Isuzu Motors Europe, Isuzu Motors Germany, Isuzu Motors International Operations (Thailand), Isuzu Motors International Operations (Europe) and Isuzu Motors in Japan. The first item on the main agenda was Isuzu’s three-year business plan through March 2018. Isuzu directors Makoto Kawahara, Kazuhiko Ito and Kuniharu Nakagawa took turns at the podium to present plans for commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles and after-sales service, respectively. Other talks covered a variety of topics, including the current market and plans to enhance the service training system. After the Italian distributor presented its successful sales and after-sales activities, three distributors were awarded for earning the top scores in an evaluation of after-sales service. The event proved to be very beneficial in terms of enabling Isuzu and local distributors to increase their sharing of important information about trends and issues in the European market.
